Ìf either me or my partner has HPV will that affect our ability to have children?

Nope. Provided you take care of yourself and have your yearly Paps so that the doctor can catch any abnormal cells, there won't be any effect on your ability to conceive. There's a small chance that if you have an outbreak of genital warts at the time of the delivery, the doctor might choose to do a C-section instead of a vaginal delivery, but I have yet to hear of this actually happening to someone. IF it developed into cervical cancer, there's a chance you'd need a hysterectomy, which obviously affects your ability to have children, but if you keep up with your paps, the chances of it getting that far are very slim.

So keep up with those exams!
