I have had clean pap until last june 07...today june 08 they told me about this virus...I have been in a relation since aug 07...what are we both to do regard intercourse the yes and no's? Also I need to know if he has it ..will the doct be able to find out if no sign ...blood test other test?

if it is low risk can we get it under control and if future kids not pass it on?
if it is high risk I realize I would have to be follow but what about partner?
now as we are sexual active what would be your advice...for couples do it with protection and if not what will it mean care wise etc...

Do you know if you have high risk or low risk HPV? High risk (the kind that causes cancer) doesn't pose much of a risk to a male partner (though he could give it to future partners.) Low risk (the kind that causes warts) can give men and women both symptoms.

Unfortunately, there's no test for men, so unless he develops warts, he'll have no way of knowing whether he has it.

It's really up for you and your partner to decide. If you use protection, he could still get it, though the chances are lower. Either way, it poses much less of a risk to men than to women. I would talk to your partner and your doctor about what you want to do.
