I read that you can spread it to the man if you have HPV. Men who have HPV do not even know they have it and gives it to another woman through sexual intercourse. The cycle keeps repaeting itself. That is why 80% of woman have HPV and don't even know it. The number 6-18 HPV causes cervical cancer number 6-11 causes gential warts. If the HPV test comes back postive I would find out what numbers if any I am carrying.
HPV is transmitted by skin to skin contact. Of the 20+ strains of HPV (out of over 100) that affect the genitals (including penis, anus, and/or thoat/mouth) some are high risk and some are low risk. Low risk HPV can cause genital warts. High risk HPV has no symptoms and can lead to cancer if undetected and/or untreated.
