HPV can cause genital warts. They often look like small, flesh-colored skin tags. If warts get really bad, they may start to grow together and end up looking like tiny bunches of cauliflower.
However, not all HPV causes genital warts. You can have HPV and have no symptoms whatsoever. This is why women have annual gynecological exams -- the doctor examines the inside of the vagina and cervix for any visible changes and takes a sample of cells to examine for changes caused by HPV. Unfortunately, there is no equivalent test for men.
