Hi all,

I recently took a HPV screening and the results have just come back confirming i have type 45 strain of HPV

I dont know what to think or do, alto i doubt theres much i can do right now as i dont have any abnormal cells showing to date... I'm concerned that i could pass this virus onto my husband if we try for another child...

Can anyone advise me if this is poss?? I'm so worried right now and i dont knwo who to turn to for advice... i've just relocated and dont have a relationship with my new doctors yet, so its all so scary.

I wouldnt really worry about passing it to your husband because by now he most likely has it.
Partners tend to share the same hpv.
But the good thing rarely is HPV a problem for men.

Hi Debs. I understand your worry.

Has your doctor done a colposcopy yet? What about an ECC? If not, then I suggest you ask your doctor about those. The only non-surgical way the doctor knows what is going on in the endocervical canal is with an ECC.

What Sunny said about your husband already being exposed is true, as long as both of you are monogamous. Every time someone has a new partner, his/her chances of getting another strain of HPV is increased (which increases the chances of future partners getting it, too).
