Hi there
I was diagnosed a while ago with HPV and had a lapscope done for endometriosis.
At the beginning of the year I had a papsmear done and my gynae said that he did not see any abnormalities.
Does HPV show on the results when a papsmear is done?
Does it go away and then re-appear again?!?!
What happens??

HPV does not show on a pap smear. Another test has to be run. The doctor can run the test at the same time as the pap (and possibly from the same sample taken during a pap, but it isn't automatically run).

From what I've read it is possible for a strain of HPV to go dormant and then reactivate later.
