I've never heard of that! I hope someone knows the answer!

My only thought is it is a preexisting condition. Have you been diagnosed with HPV only or do you have further dysplasia?

I don't see why they won't give you insurance for it. They should you could get cervical cancer. I live in Illinois and we have welfare. Maybe you should look into something like that in you state. Maybe it's something different but i know they'll give it to you cause it's an STD

Re: why can't i get insured with hpv?

The state of Calfornia can deny insurance for pre-existing conditions. I read that two big insurers in California are denying coverage to people on Lipitor who have high cholesterol!
The only states required to insure everyone regardless of pre-existing condtions are; NY,
NJ, Vermont, Maine, and Mass.

I was contemplating a move to San Diego in the future, but when I read people are being denied insurance, I would never make Ca. my permanent residence. I am staying put in NY for sure!

This situation in Ca. and other states is terrible, because people don't want medical tests for fear of not getting insurance for pre-existing conditions.

I'm sorry about your problem.

Re: why can't i get insured with hpv?

I actually haven't been diagnosed before - the insurance company contacted my doctor and found out about it through a routine look through my records. My doctor hadn't made a big deal of it at the time when she told me that I had HPV. Who knew it was actually a big deal and WHO KNEW the insurance people could look through my records?? I'm sure I signed something at some point allowing that to happen if necessary, but I guess I never thought it would be necessary. I apparently have high risk HPV but no symptoms and since they saw that in my records that I'm being denied insurance coverage.
