Getting Tested for HPV
If I go to the doctor and get an STD check and Papsmere, will they be able to find out if I have HPV or not?

You will have to ask specifically for the HPV test. It is not a standard HPV test, nor is it standard with a Pap.

From a PAP test, they can assume you have HPV or not, but it is not an actual HPV test. It only tests for the presence of abnormal cells (usually caused by HPV). If you get a bad PAP result, they then usually test for HPV.
