Oh God here we go again - I have HPV diagnosed 1 year ago at age 40. First ASCUS Pap - then colp-showed chronic cervicitis. 6 months ago-pap-normal still HPV active. Now ACSUS pap again-unsure of HPV results-have not come in yet. I am sick of it - just sick-I did not expect this again. I am stressed and want to cry my eyes out - but I am at work and can not do that. I don't know what to say-Dr. said they have to wait for HPV results to come in on Tues and she said they will see what to do next. I am soooooo worried this is the same pap result I had 1 year ago and it is back-I was so sure it would be normal-God help me with my nerves-my weekend is ruined and I feel like all I want to do is cry my eyes out. I see everyone else around me going for the routine pap and they are normal and it always has to be me with this damn crap-I am so sick of it. My father died a month ago and now this stress to add to my already stressed out body.
((((Kimie)))) It is difficult, I hope I say a few things that might help.
First of all, are you *sure* everyone else's paps are coming back normal? I've never heard anyone (except a pretty close friend) complain about a bad pap. I'm certain others (especially single women) have bad paps, but just don't advertise it.
Secondly, worrying isn't going to help. You can't learn anything else this weekend. I've learned (the very hard way) that worrying doesn't change the outcome. It is what it is (or was, at the time of the biopsy). The report will show that when it comes in. ((((hugs)))) And finally, someone I know online has said, "never waste a good worry, until you KNOW you have something to worry about." It is far easier to say than to do, but it can give comfort later on.

hi pickle eyes (that name give me a chuckle-I need that) thanks. My husband said the same thing about worrying but it is difficult. what I can say is that i am not so broken apart as the first time over a year ago when I first had abnormal pap-so that is good-but I am still scared and frustrated. I just feel puzzled-because it was normal 6+ months ago-so I was expecting the same result-won't do that again. anyway here we go again with colp or other stuff which I really hate so much.

I can't remember, when is your next colpo? How old are you? You might ask your doctor if he/she will also do an ECC at that time (I can't remember if I've suggested that or not). It checks the cervical canal that can't be seen, even with the colpo.
Hi Pickle eyes-I will find out on tues when I can schedule it they are waiting for my HPV results which was active 6 months ago. Oh and I am 41 and yes you did mention the ecc before which I will request. thanks so much
