I tested positive

How long can you be infected before it will show in a test?

Re: I tested positive

Did you test positive thru a pap test or a coloscopy?

Re: I tested positive

I have been with my husband for almost 17 years and was diagnosed positive for high risk HPV just over a year ago. We have been monogamous.

High risk HPV can cause problems pretty quickly (within a few months), a few years, or even decades. I fall into the latter catagory. HPV isn't a good way to try to determine fidelity.

I was diagnosed positive for high risk HPV after my doctor did the HPV/dna test at my pap in Dec 2007. I've never had a bad pap in my life (and I've been going annually, for 25+ years).

Yes, it's hard to say. 1 year or maybe decades!
