I have a 6 yr old daughter who has had 4 operations to remove oral pappilomas between 18months to 2 and a half years.We recentley discovered the one on her tongue has grown back,albeit alot smaller,and she will need it surgically removed also.
I am at my wits end as just discovered there may be a link to cancer,
Please could you reply to me asap as I didnt think this was the case.

Respiratory papillomatosis can occur anywhere in the respiratory tract, from mouth to lungs but usually in the throat/laryngeal area. IT has been linked to HPV low risk 6 and 11 which can be passed onto the newborn during delivery when it enters the mouth from the infected mothers vagina. A recent study on head and neck cancers showed that 25% were from HPV and of those HPV type 16 was found in 90% of the cases. This is different from papillomatosis as 16 is a high risk malignancy causing strain and those causing papillomatosis is low risk noncancer causing strains. You should request that they do HPV testing on those surgical specimens just to be sure.

I'm worried about my 9mo old. I have oral papillomas and believe laryngeal as well. I was diagnosed with high risk recently and low risk(still active) 17yrs ago. I fear for my child! I've researched and found indolplex to be very promising.
