| HGSIL-- doctor isn't doing anything!
Okay, I'm 16 and I have had HPV for 2 years (was told in October 2007).
I moved to a new town (20 miles away) and was referred to Dr. Rucshi; she told me Spring '08 that I had LGSIL/ASCUS and referred me to Dr. Bigsby.
So I had a 1-year HPV check-up yesterday and Dr. Bigsby told me that I had HGSIL and have had it since the last time I was there; she hadn't previously told me this before, so it was a shock. I had no idea I had developed a high-risk for cervical cancer.
I've been prone to dysplasia, and this was very bad news.
She should be calling today.
What I don't understand is why all the doctors want to do around here is "watch and wait"... until what? I develope cervical cancer and am not able to have kids in the future? I call ********.
I've known girls who go in and get the cells lasered or frozen off, and I have had nothing done to me besides a painful biopsy a year ago.
I'm going to college this fall, moving in with my fiance January... and plan on having children in 3-5 years... I want them to take action NOW and not wait until I'm to the point where I have to get a hysterectomy. What do I do? |
