HPV and Genital Warts? - Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Message Board

My sister had pre-cancerous cells removed from her cervix when she was about 19 (10 years ago) and they told her it was from the HPV virus so I am wondering if she also carries the same type of HPV that causes genital warts because her boyfriend was diagnosed with having genital warts and she says she does not have them and she now thinks he cheated on her and thats how he got them.

So can someone with the HPV virus that causes pre-cancerous cells on the cervix also carry the virus for genital warts and pass it to their partner without knowing it?

I was also wanting to know when she had the pre-cancerous cells removed from her cervix if it damaged it in some way cause she has been trying to have a baby for almost two years maybe longer and has never been pregnant. I'm not exactly sure how they removed the pre-cancerous cells but I think that they just cut it out. I kinda figure that maybe scar tissue is getting in her way of having a baby?

It is entirely possible to have more than one strain of HPV, including low risk and high risk.

As far as her having difficulty getting pregnant, it isn't likely that the treatment for her HPV and precancerous cells are adding to this problem. It is possible, but not likely. The only possibility that I am aware of is if she had a cone biopsy and the cervical os closed up. If that had happened, then I would think that she wouldn't be having a period either (and the period fluid could be building up inside of her). At least that's how I understand it.
