| curious about HPV vaccine for men.
Hello all,
I recently met a girl who was wonderful. Unfortunately she confided in me that she has HPV, im not sure of which type. During our short lived relationship there was one instance of oral sex and not much else. She was my first serious attempt at a relatioship and therefore my first sexual experience, needless to say im a bit conservative when it comes to sex.
Now this is the first time ive dealt with anything involving transmitted infections or diseases so naturally im very uneasy. I have heard some good things and some not so good things along my many forays into the internet to find information. One of the good things ive encountered is that there is an attempt going on to get the HPV vaccine approvdd for men.
Unfortunately these things take a while.
After speaking to my doctor and him reassuring me that there was little chance of me getting HPV from my encounter. Thats a good thing. Now as far as i know i do not have HPV.
Now heres the interesting part. I would not like to get it. Obviously theres a desire to remain negative, also i wouldnt want to pass it on to anybody else. So my question is this:
I live in the Los Angeles area and am wondering if anyone knows of a doctor that could administer the vaccine off-label. Im sure asking for medical procedures online is a taboo, obviously im taking a risk of having this post deleted.
So would anyone know of a doctor or doctors that offer the vaccine to men? Is it possible for me to get the vaccine considering im 27 years old? As i said this pleasant young lady was my first sexual experience (meaning i was a virgin beforehand) so im semi-assured im HPV free.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for responding or reading this.
