Call your doctor's office back and ask them. I've seen people say this, but don't know the answer.
I imagine the reason for waiting is to offer better protection from the virus. I suspect you *can* have sexual contact (HPV can be transmitted by various forms of sexual contact, not just sexual intercourse) but you are not fully protected by the vaccine if you are exposed to one of those strains of HPV prior to the 6 months.
Like I said, I'm not totally sure, but that is what makes sense to me (based on what I *do* know).
