Sure you can still have the vaccine. The more sexually active (and not just sexual intercourse; HPV is transmitted by various forms of foreplay) you are prior to the vaccine, the more opportunities you have to be exposed to one of the strains of HPV which is in the vaccine. There aren't any easy or inexpensive ways to know what strains of HPV one has. I suggest if you are in the age range for which the vaccine is recommmened, then get the vaccine. It may still offer some protection.
