Can anybody offer any advice please, I went for my smear in august received the result in October abnormal, It was passed over to the hospital, this is my first smear test, I had a biopsy on 16th November received a letter stating the biopsy has come back with significantly abnormal cells and treatment is going to be done, i have an appointment December 21st. Is this normal, is it ok, what does this mean has any one else had significantly abnormal cells?
Any help or advice is gratefully received.

I suggest you ask for copies of your pathology reports. They will give you more information about what has already been done and what the results were. Then we can offer more advice. When you say "treatment" do you mean a LEEP/LLETZ?

thank you for the reply, on the letter from the consultant it just states treatment is required and will be carried out, that's why I'm a little concerned I just have the information that i have posted on here.

I strongly suggest you call the doctor's office and ask for a copy of the pathologist's report. you have a letter which just states there is a problem. The actual patholgoist's report will tell you specifically what types of cells are abnormal. This will help you understand what is going on.
