There is not a way for a man to get tested for HPV. If you have the virus that means he has it as well. Most likely he had no idea he had it since he cannot be tested. However, HPV is something that can lay dormant in our bodies for decades (according to my doctor). HPV is a virus you can get from genital contact, not necessarily just sexual intercourse. It is very common and very treatable.
When I was told I had HPV the nurse made it very clear to not jump to any conclusions about infidelity in my relationship. Most likely I had HPV for many years but it just now presented itself.
