i have got a wart just below the **** area i have been to a gums clinic and had it cheacked and they said it was the HPV there is only the one and now im scared that i will always carry the virus for the rest off my life is there no way at all off gettin rid off it

The wart itself will either go away on its own or can be treated. You shouldn't have it "forever". The virus that causes genital warts (and the other strains which can cause dysplasia) stay in the body forever (from what I've read). This doesn't mean the virus is causing problems, it is just there. There is a possibility that the virus can reactivate later in life under stressful situations and cause problems then.

you PROBABLY will not carry it forever. most of the time a persons immune system can fight off the virus within two years of infection. Help your body strengthen your immune system by living a healthy life style. ninety percent of people will build immunities to hpv! think possitively this is likely not a life sentence!

PickleEyes said it best. The symptoms can go away and be non-problematic... The virus itself will stay in your body forever, just like any and every virus that you have ever had. For example, if you have ever had the Flu... the flu stays in your body forever because it is a virus. However, your body's immune system can suppress it to where it does not show symptoms. Eat right, take vitamins, exercise, don't smoke... those are the best ways to boost your immune system.
