HPV and ASCUS

Hi,
I'm 25 years old and I have been getting regular paps smears almost every year. I have been looking at others pages and have realized this is a common questions. I just got a pap smear and it came back HPV + and ASCUS.
I'm going to schedule a colscopy tomorrow. i am absolutely terrified and shocked at the results! I have been w/ my current b/f for 1 1/2 and before that my boyfriend for 3 years. I dont' understand how this can happen now? i'm completely scared because I'm afraid the colscopy will come back precancerous/ or cancerous?! how often does a test come back like this? i'm
under the assumtion that I caught this soon enough where if it does come back cancerous that it can be taken care of and not lead to any thing. my doctor told me if i get a bad test result that i will have to cut part of my cervix?! how often does that happen? Will this effect my having children and sex life?? i'm assuming it will due to a partially missing cervix? i was told this ASCUS test result is mild but i'm still afraid and i have no idea how long i've had this? it didn't show up last year on my pap?! any who how has gone through this help!
