I recently went to the doctor and had a pimple like sore on the shaft of my penis checked out. I believe the doctor made a false diagnosis. I have a wart-like spot on the shaft of my penis. With closer exam I noticed a very small one on the base of my penis and one on my scrotum. I did some research on HPV and genital herpes and read that herpes are painful and very uncomfortable. However I feel no pain or discomfort at all. To tell you the truth if i didn't look close I wouldn't have noticed the one on the base and scrotum, just the one towards the tip.
Could this be herpes? Or could it be HPV?? Or even nothing? (Which would be sweet!!)
Any help at all would be great. I don't want to believe a doctors word after observing it for 3-5 seconds and running no tests on me (Which I believe is very unprofessional)

Well if you are concerned, you should get a second opinion? However, I suffer from GW due to HPV and they do not cause me any pain, well physically.... emotionally they definetly take a toll... Best wishes <3 you are not alone
They can look very different, but at the same time can be similar in appearance enough that it could be either. Plus it's different for each person on whether or not they(either HPV or HSV) is painful or not so having no discomfort isn't really a sign. The only way you're gonna know 100% is to get tested for the herpes(HSV). There is no test for men for HPV so if the HSV test comes back negative then most likely its HPV but if the HSV test is positive then well obviously it's that.... Good luck man, I know how much this sucks.
