HPV Positive

Hi, im 17 years old and was just diagnosed with hpv. I have only been sexually active for 5 months and with my boyfriend. I went in for my pap and was told i had abnormal cells present, when i went in for my second appointment i was told i had hpv detected and was given a colposcopy/biopsy. I go back for my results in 3 weeks. I have felt very lonely in the run and would love to discuss this with anyone that might have dealt with the same issues. Does anyone have any advice?
I did not break up with my boyfriend because of this, i love him very much and this will not change my view on him. Staying strong is very important to me.

Re: HPV Positive

I recently had a pap smear come back abnormal (most likely due to HPV). I totally get the feeling alone part. The good things is that HPV usually goes away within a year or two.

Just be sure to keep healthy and build your immune system up. You should get another pap smear in a year (or at least that is what my doctor has told me) and depending on those results, go from there.

Re: HPV Positive

A daily multivitamin, folic acid, vitamin A, vitamin E, and l-lysene. After running that regimen for three months and undergoing the proper care, my symptoms disappeared. I kept it up for another six, and continue to take a daily multivitamin. Keep up with your follow-up appointments, too! You'll overcome the condition, it just takes time, patience, and a lot of self care.
