| | hpv and relationship
I have been with the same man for 6 years we have been monogomous. 3 months ago I went for a pap and a few weeks later I get the letter in the mail saying that the pap was abnormal and I have hpv. After freaking out I told my boyfriend what was happening and that because I have it and we have been together for so long that he has it too. Well he didn't want to believe me so he went to get a std test from his doc. ( do normal std testd pick up on hpv? Everything I have read says there are not any tests for guys) the test came back negative for everything, I was confused. In the meantime I had my colposcopy and a week later the results came back highgrade and the next step is loop. He has been supportive and goes to the docs with me, but he asked my doctor if she had any previous experience with only one person in the relationship having hvp and if she new how they handled it. Well he wasn't ready for the answer, she said the same thing I had been telling him from the start, he stormed out. How can I get him to realize that even though its an std its realy more of a virus than a disease and it hardly ever affects men especially not in the same way it does women. How can I help him to not be affriad to touch me cause its likley he has it also. The one thing he keeps saying is he will believe it when he sees it. But u can't see it just like u can't see the air but u know its there.I feel lost help me please.
