Am I a hypochondriac?

I don't know... my symptoms are VERY REAL.

Headaches that come and go real fast
Tightness in my head
Twitching muscles
Fatigue
Heart flutters
Twitching nerves in/all around my head
Nausea
Always worried about my else, can't think of anything else
Can't concentrate anymore
Feel like I can't breath

All my blood tests came back normal
How can I convince my doc to give me a CT scan and heart test? Or do I just have health anxiety even though my symptoms are REAL and I really do feel it and it's not in my head

Re: Am I a hypochondriac?

hi yep it does sound like good old fashioned anxiety look at it this way when youve been checked and found not to be suffering from anything else "at least it isnt any thing serious" l know its hard right now but you can learn to lessen the effects it has on you by regular relaxation, and learning about whats going on you could get claire weekes books these are real easy to understand and really helped me infact i felt like id wrote it lol(i got mine from the libary) is your doc prescribing any meds for you? take care

Re: Am I a hypochondriac?

I have alot of those symptoms and more. I had blood tests and ekg a pulmanary function test and they all came back normal. It is still hard for me to believe its just anxiety causing all these physical problems. I found that reading about the symtoms and reading other peoples stories helped me not be as afraid. I would just come out and ask your doctor for the test for your own peace of mind. Good luck and best wishes.

Re: Am I a hypochondriac?

I can fully understand what you are going through as I have been through it. It was a few years ago and I had all the tests you could think of (all negative). I was put on various drugs some of which made the symptoms worse. I finally got better although it was a long hard battle. You have to build up your confidence in yourself nad have a positive outlook on life it helped me. If you need any help or advice I'd be happy to help further. Good Luck and have faith in yourself.
