| Re: Recovery time
I just had a total hysterectomy (they left my uterus) via laparascope. I went in for a noon surgery, and then was back in emergency sergery at 11:00 pm because I was bleeding internally. But at any rate, everything went fine, and I got out of the hospital in 3 days. It is now the 13th, and I feel pretty good.
I am lightly vacuuming my tile floors, and actually did laundry last week, although I had mu husband carry the basket.
It's just the first week you have to make sure you walk around for about 20 minutes and rest for 40 minutes. Just be really easy on yourself the first 1-3 weeks. No lifting over 10 lbs. After this time, take it slow and go at your own pace. I have an SUV and find it very hard to drive that. I'm only 5' for one, and the sitting straight up bothers my stomach incisions. My stomach feels like I rode a horse. So the lower the car the better.
Hope some of this helps! Hope all goes well. I know it is the best decision I made. I had endometriosis for 10 years, 7 laparascopes, 2 children, and now a hysterectomy. I got tired of living in pain all the time.
