Update:Had my TAH - Hysterectomy Message Board

Hi everyone,

Got home today after having my Hyst on monday. They took everything. Ovaries, falopian tubes, and Uteris. The doc said before surgery that he was thinking of keeping my ovaries for the estrogen issue. But he could not promisse that I wouldn't get any cysts. I told him do what you think would be right.

He opened me up, and from what I understand was a mess. My Uteris looked like it went through 2 or 3 c-sections, yet I never had a c-section, I had some Endo, I had Adhesions, and my Ovaries were enlarged. So he took everything out and of coarse sent things out to get tested.

as I said I went in on Monday and was released today which is friday. I am tired, I am sore, it hurts. But hopeffuly I will be normal soon !! I am on painkillers, I am also on Estrogen Patch, also on Multi vitiamins and Calciam Pills.

To everyone out there that has been through this or is going to go through this !!! It will be ok. It is very important to take care of your body !! You only have one !!

Hey there, I know what you are going through. I had my hysterectomy on Monday May 2nd. I was in the hospital for 6 days, so this is my first week home. They also had to take everything on me also, but I can't be on hormones, because they could not get all of my Endo.

Things will get better. I am very sore (they cut me belly button all the way down). I am all new to all of this, but I will try to answer you anyway I know how. How old are you? I am 26. I hope you do okay!!

Glad to hear you are back home. I am now in my third week of recovery and doing ok. I kept my ovaries but everythingelse went. I had good news today from my gyno surgeon who wrote me that my path report did not show any significant problems and I will see him in a couple of weeks for a post op check up. He has looked after me very well. Have to say that despite the discomfort from the scar and swelling, I am enjoying being pain free and not have the worry about pads/hygiene ..... just hope it stays that way.

I have read your posts. We are in the same boat. It still hurts and I know it will take a while. The gas pain can get realy bad !! I moved my bowels today and MY GOD I thought I was giving birth !!
They cut me in my pelvic area from one side all they way to the other. They stapeled me back up and I go Wed. to get the stapels removed. I am 39 years old.
Keep me posted on your recovery. Feel better

Hey Kelly Kay.. Well I made it. This recoop is not fun ! But at least I don't have to worry about my pre period and period pain anymore and no more cysts !! How are you doing?? How are you feeling??
