Done - Hysterectomy Message Board

Well, I have went ahead and had it done...had my hysterectomy...was only wanting to leave the ovaries, but he found that my right one was damaged due to endometriosis, so he went ahead and took it out...
Do I feel different, too early to tell...Do I regret it? No...I was told by my doctor there would be no more bleeding...and the surgery went much better than I could have ever dreamed of...when I first came out pain was a 7-8. After that, pain was a 0. The most I have experienced so far (came out of the hospital yesterday) have been twinges and soreness...I have felt worse from just starting to work out!...I hope this solves the problem...I will post again to let everyone know if the problem is solved, or if I never should have had it done...

Believe me you will be happy. I had to have both of my ovaries taken out but had the same problems as you had. Only mine was done with the full surgury not what you lucky people go through now. Do not plan on problems. Just take your time and everything will work out. A lot of people tell you of all the problems you will have. Just ignore them and be yourself.

You will be so thrilled with not having all that bleeding anymore. The Merriest of Christmases to you. Good luck.

It sounds like you are well on the road to recovery. Cannot remember what type of surgery you were going to have (abdominal, vaginal, etc) but whichever one it was please make sure that you do not try and do too much too soon. You may be feeling great but you are still healing inside and this will still take about 6 weeks irrespective of the type of surgery you had. So no lifting that heavy pup of yours for a few weeks more ok

My surgery was vaginal, and as my name implies I am getting very impatient with my stipulations...I am doing no driving for 2 weeks...no heavy lifting...but I had to give in today and wax my floors, along with a little laundry...I know my husband tries but it still isn't the same......but am trying to keep in mind that even though I feel no pain, I have had an operation...Thanks! KTee...sometimes I just need a little reminding of what has happened to my body...

Donna, forgive my posting error. I posted in your other thread, not realizing that you'd already had your hysterectomy!

So sorry!

Very happy to hear that you're feeling better already! I understand about the "sore spot" issue. I don't have a dog, but my almost-19 month old doesn't understand that it's not okay to tackle mommy right now. LOL
