Hysterectomy for Chronic Endometritis

I was told that polyps was causing bleeding after intercouse. I am perimenopausal, 50yrs old. But after my D&C doctor said no polyps. I did have an endometrial biopsy done a while back. According to the biopsy, the DX was chronic endometritis possible due to polyps. So now I have chronic endometritis and no polyps. I have read a hysterectomy should be considered to chronic endometritis, because this could cause uterine cancer later. I don't want to keep worrying about cancer, but I also don't want a hysterectomy if I don't need it. Has anyone has gone through this situation, please I need advice!!!!!!

Re: Hysterectomy for Chronic Endometritis

I am 30 years old and just had a child in august. To make along story short i was diagnosed with every pg complication so i was miserable. In October I had a D&C and Hysterscopy with ablation, I had no polyps but my pathology did come back with Chronic endo metrosis and chornic endometritis. After suffering with constant uterine infection one after the next...bleeding and constant pain, my worst fear came true...the uterine cancer. I am going on to have a hysterctomy/oopharectomy,in other words they are taking out everything...it is scheduled for Tuesday the 12th of this month. I am very nervous but if i knew know that it would have turned this way so quickly I would have done the surgery last year, if there is any doubt or if you lived like i mentioned....it may be something you should really consider?? Kind of personal but do you have children?

The hysterscopy i mentioned above with the ablation is where they laser the lining of your uterus,it is suppose to stop you from bleeding at all and no more pain...however that did not work on me. Jenifer
