Morbid obese needing hysterectomy
I am morbidly obese, 450 lbs and need a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. The question basically is, I do NOT want to be cut open fully and want a lap surgery instead. What kind of doctor should I ask to do the surgery? I initally went to my gyno-oncologist who advised me the best thing is to be fully cut open but I do NOT want that due to other health issues.

Health Issues:
Type 2 diabetic
Endometioal Cancer
Anemia (low iron transfer % and iron slightly low with high RDW)
edema of the legs
fatty liver diseas
gallstones (still have gallbladder)

Needed to know who I would talk to about getting a hysterectomy when I weigh 450lbs. I have uterine cancer, lost my insurance right after I got diagnosed, now I have my insurance again and don't know if there is another Dr I can talk to about doing my surgery with my gyno-oncologist, is this possible? My gyno-oncologist wants to fully cut me open, I do not want that due to my anemia, type 2 diabetes, edema, and obesity. Thanks for your replies!

I know it's been a while. I hope you had your surgery and it went well. Did they give you a reason why it could not be done going through the vaginal canal as the opening? I thought that was pretty common.
