This is a great question to ask your doctor, so don't be embarrassed to!
All I can think of is that maybe you have scar tissue that prevents a vaginal
hysterectomy. It's really just a guess.
I had an abdominal hysterectomy in 2006 and have been feeling just wonderful, since.

I don't know all the reasons for the doctors reason. But, I do know that there is a lot of old-fashion Doctors out there or they just don't want to go though a more expensive procedure/a timely procedure. If you have to get several Doctors opinions. Never be satisfied with the first one.

I also had a complete hysto at age 29, i'm 32 now and i have to say that i am doing great. Mine was abdominal to. I was miserable for about 3 wks. But after that no problems. Dont regret it at all.
