| Post op pain?
I am 68 years old, last Monday I had a hysterectomy, rectocile and cystocil repair. The Dr. was unable to reach my ovaries so since they are healthy left them in. My pre-op tests were all fine, I needed the hysterectomy due to the bladder and uterua prolasping externally.
I felt good after the surgery, some pressure and some light cramps I. was released from the hospital the next day and on Fri. I had my first BM, which was so painful. Ever since that I am getting pain that seems to be in my rectum. The Dr. did give me a script for pain meds which I did not get filled thinking I would not need them. This pain seems to be worse until after I have a BM and than is tolerable. I am taking 2 colace per day and drnking a little prune juice also.
Sometimes when I sit I feel sore and or when I walk other times it is okay. Is this normal after this type of surgery and how long will this pain last?
I think a good way to expess the pain when it is bad is like someone kicked me in the butt and landed perfectly.
Thank you for any reponse, Lnda
