I just had a hydrothermal ablation yesterday. I always research health on this board and decided to post about my experience. I didn't have horribly excessive bleeding but am on blood thinner. My periods got quite heavy after a tubal ligation last year. Due to clots, I cannot use any hormone therapy so my doc proposed HTA or hysterectomy. At 29, I just felt too young for that. I have autonomic dysfunction so sedation was a problem. They tried a few different things but ended up intubating and using general anesthesia when my BP and heart rate starting showing signs of dysfunction. We always wondered how I'd do with general and I'm glad to report I do well! I woke up with tachycardia but a normal EKG. No vomiting, some cramps, like a heavy period. Very little bleeding though. More like pink discharge. I took a few hours longer in recovery due to tachycardia but went home with my percocet script in hand which I never even used. Not even ibuprofen! Hard cramps for a few hours, which were eased with a heating pad. I fainted once from my autonomic dysfunction About two hours after getting home, about 6 hours post surgery,
my cramps went away and I felt completely normal. Not even tired. Very little
discharge. I'm just using a panty liner. Zero cramps. I feel great and even
went to work today, making me the winner of a bet with my husband and doc. Anesthesiologist and a nurse called to check on me today and I told them I don't believe they did any surgery since I feel so good
Time will tell with regards to the results. But I'm happy with my experience thus far!
