Inconclusive tests, not sure what to do
Atypical glandular cells on a pap smear. No other symptoms. Cervical stenosis. Two failed attempts at in-office endometrial sampling (once during my period and after taking cytotec for two days) and one failed d&c.
I'm premenopausal, so an ultrasound can't be conclusive, though presumably if my endometrial walls are thin enough we can be fairly sure there isn't a problem. That's scheduled for next week.
If the ultrasound is inconclusive, the only thing the doc can offer me is a hysterectomy. She agrees that it's kind of extreme barring conclusive evidence of a problem, but she says that's what she'd probably do if she were in my situation. I'm done having kids, but I don't relish the thought of having to take several weeks off work.
Has anyone else opted for a hysterectomy just to be on the safe side when there was no conclusive evidence of a problem?
