Spotting 5yrs after hysterectomy

I am a 33 year old women who had a hysterectomy 5 years ago but I spotted a little blood a couple of times today. Everything was removed except my ovaries. I have been feeling more tired lately and having lower back pain too. I am more confused than worried. Has anyone had a hysterectomy and had these problems before?

Re: Spotting 5yrs after hysterectomy

I had a hysterectomy 7 years ago but haven't had any spotting. Some things that can cause spotting are vaginal atrophy or a tear in the vaginal cuff incision. Since you're feeling more tired, it's possible your ovarian function is compromised. The ovaries' hormone production can wane or completely stop after the uterus is removed. But fatigue seems pretty common after hysterectomy even when there are no outward signs of ovarian failure. The loss of estrogen can cause vaginal atrophy. Low estrogen can cause many other menopausal symptoms but symptoms can vary widely by individual woman.

Back pain years after hysterectomy is common because the severing of the uterine ligaments affects pelvic integrity and the skeletal structure. Of course, there could be something more explaining the back pain. I have back, hip, and rib cage pain off and on from the changes to my physique/skeleton.

One thing I forgot to mention - It could be a problem with your urethra such as urethral prolapse.
