Hello. I'm 24 years old girl.
After giving an oral sex to a man I was diagnosed with thrush. I had white patches on my tongue and a feeling like something is stucked deep in my mouth.
Doctor precribed me one capsule of "Diflucan", but it didn't help me to get rid of it. I was rinsing my mouth with a salt and soda water but it didn't help either.
I have a feeling my tongue is coated with something and the "ball" feeling deep in my mouth still is with me.
Later I thought maybe I was infected with HIV, but I tested after 14 weeks - negative. But this feeling on my tongue and mouth still persists.
Maybe someone had the same experience and can help me. Because I'm really depressed with it and don't know what to do and how to get rid of it.

My doc gave me Nystatin to take by mouth 3x per day and a special diet. Look up candida albicans and see if that helps.

thank you for your reply.
What kind of diet did he give you apart from Nystatin?
And one more question - your thrush was a result of what desease? I mean I guess I'm not immune compromised, that's why it's so scary. And all doctors say thrush only occurs in people who are immune compromised or drug users or with a cancer.

I always heard that thrush was a yeast infection (babies are prone to thrush). Have you tried eating yogurt or cultured buttermilk? The buttermilk is what we used to give to babies with thrush to coat their mouth. You might try it along with the Diflucan.

I recommend doing a throat swab.

It could be a normal mouth infection, I have a similar mild coating on the back of my throat, it started after I had taken some antibiotics for long periods, I did a throat swab, I was then diagnosed with some mouth infection, I don't remember the name, but the doctor said gram negative-something, he also asked me if I had preformed oral sex on anyone before having it.

And try yogurt, it helps a lot
