Asthma and allergies already attest to an immune system that isn't quite right. Immune deficiencies aren't usually something that you acquire unless you have had chemo or have AIDS. I doubt that your problems are from the meds you have taken all of your life, but anything is possible. For the most part, we seem to be born with immune problems. The kind that I have is hereditary, although I have no family history of such problems, and it shows up when you are an adult. There are some relatively simple tests that your allergist can do that could tell you if you do have a true immune deficiency. Ask for them to be done, and go from there. Good luck!
