Question Having problems with diagnoses going crazy

This may seem a little long, but I need some help cuz I feel like I've got a serious problem but I can't seem to figure it out. Let me start off by saying I have mild acne and have had it for 10 years at least. I have been on dioxycycline 100mg for quite a while and now minocycline until my regular doc advised me to quit taking it, thinking my body could be having adverse reactions to this. I take Ambien too for sleep probs
Last Sunday I went to the Emergency room because I was having stomach pain and felt like I was having heart complications. They pumped me full of phenagren and I went home and went to sleep. The symptoms I have been enduring in the past 6 months have been lower back pain, mid back pain, sometimes I feel like my spine actually swells. I have weakness in my joints, arthiritic type pain in the pads of my feet, my thumbs ,which I'm sure could be from my years of sports. Now I play hockey and last Friday when I played, after I played, I felt faint, like I was going to pass out. I have never had problems like this before. Ocassionally I get bumps in my armpits where my lymphnodes are and they hurt. I've noticed my skin has been pale lately and my nuckles have turned blue. My blood work is normal, my vital signs are normal, but me I don't feel normal. I'm baffled at this point because I'm wondering if I have some form of a autoimmune or thyroid condition if I should be checked for that or if I have some form of arthiritis. I'm 26 and In very good condition physically or at least I thought, always been atheletic. I've done my fair share of partying over the years which could be reaping havoc now. If you have any ideas please respond.
Thanks
Peace

Re: Having problems with diagnoses going crazy

ahoy,
sorry to hear about your symptoms and their puzzlingly broad range!
keep searching the web, you may find something yet.
i'd recommend seeing an internist, then see what they say.
these docs are pretty good at trying to figure out the pieces of puzzles like yours. most of them love a challenge.
don't give up too quickly, though.
i had to go through 13 different docs before i got my dx and a treatment plan. hang in there.

Autoimmune disorders tend to run in families. If your dad has lupus, your symptoms do raise some red flags. I have RA and it came to mind when you were talking about pain in the balls of your feet and your thumbs. There is also a condition called ankylosing spondylitis which affects your spine. Mention the spinal symptoms to your doctor. I think you need to see a good internist and probably a rheumatologist.
