I am a 33 year old female with a lifetime history of allergies that never get better, but consistently worsen as I age. I am allergic to virtually everything in my indoor/outdoor environment, and I also have many food allergies as well, and they wreak havoc in my digestive system. Not a day goes by where I don't have some sort of reaction, and I can't remember ever having a reaction free day. I've been on allergy shots in the past, (they made me worse) and I'm currently in my 3rd year of having them again. Only this time I'm having more and more severe reactions, becoming more and more sensitive and my ENT/allergist is now seeing a problem. She suspects I have some sort of deficiency in my immune system that is causing this, and is sending me to an immunologist for tests. I have an appointment for the 27th of this month, and I'm wondering what to expect. Blood tests I'm sure, but is there anything else I can expect?

Ironically, my immune systen works great when it comes to viruses and bacteria, as I rarely get sick. I've had 2 colds in the last four years, and I've attributed it to the fact that my immune system is ALWAYS in attack mode fending off allergens. Bacteria and viruses don't stand a chance getting in when the soldiers are always lined up. LOL I guess I must give that system of mine some credit.
