Hi There,
My family on my father's side has a history of auto immune disorders ranging from poor circulation which I have, to other, more serious diseases. I was recently hospitalized with Pancreatits. I am a healthy, fit and active 22 year old girl with no adverse medical reactions. I don't drink, smoke, or eat too many fatty foods. I was told this was probably something that is familial, and that maybe a trigger set it off - for my grandmother chocolate has triggered pancreatitis, for my cousin, nuts, and if I look back the week leading up to this I ate more avocado and provolone cheese than normal, or necessary.
So, after 5 horrible days in the hospital, this is what I am left with: How can I work to prevent this from happening again? Any ideas? I take a good multivitamin, spirulina tablets, acidolphilus, and fish oil daily. Besides that I eat a high-fiber diet (fruits and veggies, good sources of grains), and lean protein, etc., and try to stay away from caffiene. I also run or bike daily.
Does anybody have any similar circumstances, and if so, how do you work to prevent yourself from having a flare-up and increase your immunity?
Thank you in advance, best to everyone
