My good friend has what seems to be an immune disorder of sorts. She had cancer in her leg years ago, that supposedly went into full remission after several chemo treatments. Since then, it seems her body rejects her leg. It swells up to a size that is incredible. She is overweight, but her leg swells up so big that it literally stretches the skin to the point of absolute pain. It seems like water collects under the skin as if you could draw it off somehow, but it is uniform, all over the leg, especially from the knee down. Doctor after doctor has not diagnosed it. They just tell her to treat it by putting her leg up. It's crippling. She finds that when the liquid starts to dissipate she has to urinate a lot, as if the liquid somehow starts to circulate through the rest of the body looking for a way out. It's very very strange to us and again, has not been diagnosed. Anyone out there know what this might be and/or what to do about it? Or what the cause is?
