Right side colon pain when sitting down...PLEASE HELP! :/

Hi, I'm 24 years old...So I've been having digestive probs for awhile...I think I have IBS, but linked to something else. Been having pains, under right rib, so they did an ultrasound...I was PRETTY sure it was either related to ovaries or gallbladder. But the pelvic and upper abdominal ultrasounds came out normal. So, I'm still having pains, and was looking at a diagram, which the pain is located on my colon, right side, near appendix, (which I dont have my appendix anymore) ...yesterday had BAD trapped gas, and was able to relieve myself today with a BM...but I notice there is pain still there...especially right when I sit down a certain way, there is sense of tenderness in that area...anyone have that problem? I'll have that sitting down pain, every once in awhile, it's weird. I plan to make an appointment with the intestine doc...(gastro something?)...just need your opinions...it would be very much appreciated!

Re: Right side colon pain when sitting down...PLEASE HELP! :/

motleycruefan,

Could it be related to your diet? I suppose it could be. Constipation can cause pain. For example, if you don't get enough fiber and water in your diet, the waste material in your colon can get hard. And when you sit down it presses up against something that causes the pain. Constipation is usually one of the symptoms of IBS, so I think it's possible.

What's your diet like? Do you eat lots of fresh vegetables, fresh fruits and whole grains? Do you drink enough water? Hopefully, you'll stay away from processed foods like baked goods made with white flour. Most processed foods will work against you in the long run, as far as health goes.

im not really constipated...but it varies...I am able to make a BM everyday though...so I don't know if you could say it's constipation. And my diet, NOT good at all. But do drink lots of water, which helps make me pass a stool.
