Immunoglobulin test high IgA

Anyone here have a high IgA? My Rheumatologist was looking for Lupus or RA (both of which I tested negative for) and he ran this test and it is very high. I also have a high SED rate. They suggested I see a Hematologist/Onchologist which I will do on Monday the 20th. I had a bone scan last year looking for RA but it would have shown tumors or things and it was fine. The options for a high IgA are Lupus, RA or Multiple Myeloma. I really don't think I have cancer. Guess I'll find out soon.

Take care,
Sharon

Re: Immunoglobulin test high IgA

There are many many disorders that have a high IgA test result not just RA and Lupus or Multiple Myeloma. Some of them don't even have names yet. Did they test you because you were having symptoms or just to test?

I was tested looking for RA and or Lupus or something autoimmune and there were a tons of tests done. I saw a Hematologist/Oncologist on the 20th and she said I don't have cancer but something autoimmune. I see my Rheumy again on the 8th of February so maybe he'll be a little closer to a DX for me and I'll be that much closer to treatment. I've lived with whatever is wrong for many years..like about 19 and I just want to feel better.

Thanks for responding.
