Immunoglobulin levels - if normal once, is that good enough?
I'm in the midst of going through lots of testing with my daughter for a possible ID.
She had her IgG, IgA, IgM, and IgE levels tested back in April by her regular pediatrician. IgG, IgA, and IgM were all normal. IgG subclasses were normal. IgE was slightly elevated.
She is now seeing an immulologist, who is performing different tests (pneumococcal titers, etc). However, she did NOT re-test the immunoglobulin levels. She said that if they were normal back in April, then that was good enough and we don't need to re-test.
Is this true? What if her levels have dropped since then? Is that possible?
