lymes disease and auto immune disorders

My son has chronic ITP with extremely low platelets. A naturopath said he tested positive for lymes disease. Is anyone aware of the connection between the two?

what is a conclusive test for lymes? i saw something about a western blot. does a simple blood test also do it?
