Re: Mixed Connective Tissue Disease.
I think MCTD - Mixed Connective Tissue Disease - is a name they give to ailments that they have no idea what they actually are. I was given this diagnosis 17 years ago. It turns out I have (and had) Lyme Disease. I would check into this possibility as well, starting with the Lyme board here. What they are finding is that many illnesses, such as Lupus, MS, ALS, CFIDS, etc.... are turning out to be Lyme!

... I may be in this situation now. Could you tell me ...
On your blood tests when you were diagnosed with MCTD
1) did you have high ANA with speckled pattern
2) did you have a positive anti U1-RNP
When you were tested for Lyme's
1) what was the test performed that convinced the docs
2) did you still have positive anti U1-RNP on blood tests at this time
Sorry if these questions seem strange but I'm trying work out if having positive anti U1-RNP (which is the main test for MCTD) and being positive for Lyme's at the same time is possible. If so ... then I need more tests for Lyme's in a hurry.
Any information you have would be great :-)
