Incontinence

I am a 48 year old female and got tired of dealing with this problem so finally gave in and saw a urologist. I went through the pelvic exam, ultra sound of the bladder, and cystoscopy. Everything was healthy and in place. Now he wants to put in a sling for the urethra. Has anyone had this procedure done? I need help making this decision and need to know what to expect during and after the surgery. All information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Incontinence

Hi Saloma:
I had a bladder sling procedure after my very swollen uterus was removed. I couldn't excercise, cough, sneeze, laugh without my bladder squirting. How annoying is that! The procedure improved the quality of my life immensely. I can now jump and play, sneeze and cough to my hearts content and not worry about pee leaking out.

Blessings,
Kirstee

Re: Incontinence "Please Help!!"

I have never visited the Urology area, Fibromyalgia is where I visit most often. I have gone through the entire testing process 1 year ago and now not only the coughing, sneezing, running, etc.....3 times now it came without warning. I am 48 and this is the most embarrasing thing that has ever happened to me. I recently met a gentlemen that I am fond of, however reluctant to even do dinner because of this problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
