non-Kegel exercises for incontinence

I started an exercise program to increase strength in my hip muscles to reduce back pain. I learnedhow to build strength in hip (not back) muscles . They have lessened the back pain in only two weeks.

There was also another benefit for me and I was somewhat shocked by it but very happy. My stress incontinence is gone!!! I can hardly believe this but it's true. The Kegel exercises did nothing for me. I did not want surgery so this is wonderful. If you are looking for alternatives to surgery you might want to try this.

The first exercise was like a side leg raise only done in a standing position--3 sets of ten reps each and the second was swinging ones' leg back in a standing position but off to the side at a forty-five degree angle--not straight back. 3 sets of ten reps also. I did not use any resistance as I am obese and I got great helpful results.

I am not a physician or physical therapist so this is not professional advice. I'd definately recommend speaking to your health care provider before starting. I am only speaking to my personal experience. I don't know if this would work for men.
