my son is due in less than three weeks and i was wondering how many bottles i need to have? i will not be breastfeeding and i think i might have too many. or is there no such thing as too many? can anyone think of anything they wish they had had when they brought their baby home and never thought of?

Re: how many bottles do i need for a n/b?????

Its hard to say how many is to many, but I would say around 10 bottles is plenty! The little 4 oz bottles are ideal for when your baby is first brought home and for the first couple weeks since he won't be eatin that much then as he grows older and gets a bigger appetite the larger 8 oz bottles are ideal. Even the 4 oz bottles are nice for when you start them on juice and water. Its always nice to have extras definitley if you prepare them ahead of time and for when you are goin away! I think I had everything I possibly needed when I brought my baby home, but one thing that sticks out of my mind that was really wonderful the first couple weeks was a boppy pillow, I would wrap it around my belly and lay my son on it. It was so comfortable that way since I had a csection. So if you don't have one of them I think their an excellent investment! They can even be used to prop your baby up when he gets a little older. Congrats and Best Wishes!

Some moms have told me to have a couple different brands of bottles in case the baby is finicky or the nipples are too slow/fast for your baby.

Thats awesome you got the boppy pillow I think you'll enjoy it definitely since you are having a section too! If your talking feeling semi better I would have to say around 2 weeks and if your talking about being back in full swing it took me almost 2 months, but every person heals differently! Unfortunletly, I was a slow healer and had some complications afterwards with swelling. I know lots of people that had sections and bounced back very quickly and didn't experience to much discomfort either so hopefully you'll be one of those! Congrats and Best Wishes!

Re: how many bottles do i need for a n/b?????

so what i wound up getting was 4 4oz avent bottles, and 2 playtex 8 oz and 1 8oz other bottle for starters. i also have 6 other bottles that don't use liners and have no venting system. i figure that will be fine.
