| Re: help with COLic-please
A lot of people on here recommened I read this book called, The Happiest Baby on the Block. I held out on getting it since I didn't really want to spend the money but I did and I read it and it has helped me with DS. My little guy cried a lot and by 5 weeks I was getting very desperate. I would really suggest you read it. But I also learned a lot by trying everything with DS just to learn waht makes him happy and soothes him. It took time but we find more stuff every day that he likes. He loves being in water, in the tub or pool. He loves being in his stroller and rode through the grass. It is a rough ride and it soothes him. He loves if you carry him and walk like you normally would. No easy steps or anything, a normal fast walk, almost as if you were power walking. He loves being in his swing if we rock it faster then it normally goes. (His swing lays almost all the way down.) He loves if you hold him and dance and sing with him. And this is not the slow stuff, he wants to dip and sway all over. Turns out, what it all comes down to, we were being to quiet and gentle with him. He wants motion and movement. Personally I think the doctors like to label every crying baby as colicky. I am not saying your grandson isn't. I just think the docs label too fast. You have to find what makes them happy. Don't take this wrong it is just a personal feeling. I didn't believe my DS had colic, he was just unhappy and I had to try to find what he was looking for. We have found some things he likes and now the trick is knowing which one he is crying for.
