The boppy

Kind of a wierd question.Just want some opinions. My friend is expecting her first baby. Her shower is next month.I asked If she registered for a boppy & she replied that she doesn't need one she can just use a pillow to nurse. I absolutly LOVE my boppy.I bought 2 more one for daycare and one for grandma's house.I plop them in it while I am cooking, use it for tummy time and to feed her. I was thinking of getting it for her anyway. Is that kind of rude? I was going to get her something off her registry too and she will have like 80-100 guests so most everything will probably be repeated anyway.I don't want to offend her by getting her something she doesn't want but I think she may not realize how great it is or how great I think it is anyway.

Re: The boppy

I say get it for her, it's her first child, she doesn't know what she needs, lol. There is lots of things that I thought I needed that I now find useless and vise versa. Tell her that you know she said she didn't need it, but you absolutely love it and if she doesn't fall in love w/ it too, she can exchange it for something else (most stores will give you extension, especially for baby stuff)

Re: The boppy

Thats so true. All the money I spent on things like 0/3 month bathrobes. It was all I could do to get them dressed without turning blue after a bath from 0/3 months, lol.

Re: The boppy

I am thinking that she would exchange it before she has the baby. She seems in the mind set that she doesen't need one. She prob. read or heard something about not wasting you money on a boppy becasuse you can just use a pillow. I personally did not use mine very much. My DS would scream bloddy murder if you took any amount of time getting him to the breast. I was always fumbling with the Boppy. He hated tummy time so it did not work for that. I used it a couple of times to prop. his swaddled body when he was a newborn but the Infant to Toddler Rocker I got, worked so much better for that. My sister on the other hand could not live without the Boppy.

It's up to you but she may just return it right away. She can always go back and get one once she has the baby. The Infant to Toddler Rocker by Fisher Price is my favorite gift to give. You can put it like a bassinet when they are newborns and then it switches to a bouncy style seat when they are ready for that. When they are older it can be used as a rocking chair. Just an FYI. I also love the Baby Bjorn plastic bibs with the big cup at the bottom to catch food. I can't figure out how moms live with out it. Maybe you could lend her your Bobby so that she could try it out. Then you are not buying her a gift she doesn't think she needs but she gets to try it out.

Re: The boppy

I love my boppy! But if she said she doesn't want one, I would stick to the registry. At least you know she wants that. I agree she would probably return it before the baby comes, who has time after? By the way, how do you use your boppy for tummy time?
